Marla

Marla.Chancey@VisitCitrus.com
Marla Chancey was born in Bradenton Florida. Her mother is from Citrus County and her father from Desoto County. Marla stayed with her dad on the Homosassa River during the summers starting around 1975. "Citrus County has always felt like home to me, every time I left to go back to school up north it broke my heart. So when I graduated from Northern Illinois University with a Corporate Communications degree in 1991 I packed my car and headed for paradise."

Marla says that the unique recreational opportunities without all the crowds and all the big ticket theme parks or pricey accommodations are what set Citrus County apart from other vacation destinations. When Marla is not promoting and supporting Citrus County Tourism, you can find her fishing the flats and riding the area bike trails.

The best part about working at the Visitors and Convention Bureau? "The fact that I get to learn my county inside and out and open others eyes to how fantastic our little big town is."

Danielle

Danielle.Ackerman@VisitCitrus.com
Danielle came to Citrus County in 2000 with her family when her father retired from the Air Force. Although she has lived in many different places throughout the U.S. and overseas, she considers Citrus County her hometown.

Danielle says the best part about vacationing in Citrus County is, "The many opportunities to enjoy nature and have a true, 'Old Florida' experience." Other than her work in the tourism industry, Danielle enjoys reading novels, blogs and news sites; and playing video games.

The best part about working at the Visitors and Convention Bureau? "The chance to make a difference in my community."

Karen

Karen.Franklin@VisitCitrus.com
Karen Franklin discovered Citrus County during her family’s vacation trips to Florida. "The beautiful nature coast with its friendly people offered a home where we were on vacation every day."

Karen says Citrus County is unique because it offers an uncluttered and unspoiled area to enjoy. "This is a place where people respect wildlife and have created sanctuaries to protect it." Aside from working at the Visitor’s Bureau, Karen enjoys volunteering at the Ellie Schiller Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park and being active in the Citrus County Genealogical Society.

The best part of working at the Visitors & Convention Bureau? "Getting to tell other about the beauty of this area and what unique opportunities they can expect to enjoy during their stay."
